THE SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL LANDSCAPE OF THE TIMES
Independent
Summer 2020
Playing off of the role that the coronavirus has in our community, I used the physical distance of six feet to create a sculptural form that allows the audience to understand the actual scale of social change in our communities. The form relates to the molecular structure of the coronavirus and connecting that to how it impacts the social landscape. The use of nineteen components presents a relationship between the typography of covid-19 and the molecular structure of the virus on a microscopic scale. The sculpture is used as a tool to highlight the magnitude of how prevalent the virus is in our community which has plagued the world swiftly.
